Queen’s Speech 2015

This is a useful list of bills linked to the Queen’s speech. A number of bills from the EU referendum to the disastrous and ill judged (for rural communities) housing bill jostle for attention. Other bits of legislation likely to impact significantly in rural communities include:

Childcare Bill – good if you can find a rural childcare option, Cities Bill (see the Alister Scott article elsewhere in Hinterland for the need to ensure a more rounded approach is followed here), Enterprise Bill which should help the disproportionately high numbers of small businesses in rural England and the Energy Bill which should enable communities to more effectively challenge the big business agenda which forces wind farms on localities.
