Putting the love back in Lover village
This article tells us: Villagers are attempting to put the love back in Lover as they launch a campaign to re-open the local post office in a bid to attract Valentine’s Day fans. The Wiltshire village was once famous for its distinctive postmark and thousands of romantics used to flock to the post office to deliver their loved ones’ cards. But the tradition ended in 2008 when the post office closed. Now Lover locals are campaigning to restore the post office so romantics can one again have special postage stamps printed with a heart and the Lover brand. The money raised from the campaign will go towards funding a community centre and a new home for the village school.
