Farmers turn to filmmakers to market their produce

From a domestic/productive countryside on the one hand to the imaginary/wild on the other hand., this article describes an initiative from Leek food producer  and baker Sarah Gayton, who hopes the use of QR codes which can be scanned on  smart phones, will strengthen the link between farmer and consumer. Ms Gayton is  asking producers to send in their own 30 second clips which will enable the consumer to ‘meet the man or woman who has produced the food they are about to  purchase and eat’. Continuing the theme of the role of technology but this time for taking pictures of monster animals (!), this piece in the Guardian explores our cravings for every clue that something strange is in the hedgerows!
