What is it with the likes of Andrew Motion and Bill Bryson? If there wasn’t already too much sentimentality in this green and pleasant land they now want people to start hugging charismatic mega fauna. I wonder where they might be encouraged to take the lead – Gloucester Old Spot? Aberdeen Angus? or perhaps more exotically some relative new comers- coipu? wallaby? black cat?
