Top ten rural business Trailblazers

This story highlighted by great all round good rural guy Alan Spedding is now a week old but worth running as it identified how a key Rural Services Partnership member, the Countryside Alliance have been helping pinpoint online rural excellence. Alan tells us about the Google/CA initiative:

The village of Braunton in Devon has topped the Trailblazers list with a massive 43% growth. Google shortlisted the rural villages with the highest online economic activity, and then ranked them in terms of  the percentage increase in local enterprises using AdWords over the last year. Braunton has the highest growth out of all the villages in the UK, indicating that its online entrepreneurs are boosting growth across the area. According to the Boston Consulting Group, companies with an online presence grow from four to eight times faster than those companies without.
